5. Allure Names Dear Clark Post
We’ve heard that our subscribers at Dear Clark Hair Studio in Dallas have been honored again. This time they have been given the distinction of “Best of the Best” in Dallas by Allure Magazine and last year they made Daily Candy’s “Sweetest Things” list.
I spoke with Kaycee Clark, one of Salon Fixer’s biggest fans and one of the owners of the salon about how they attract this attention from consumer magazines and websites (the other owner is Holly Dear… thus the Dear Clark name).
Kaycee said that on the consumer side you really can’t plan for these things. In the case of the Allure accolade they apparently send in “secret shoppers” to get their hair done and it all flows from there. Therefore, you can’t campaign for it —you just have to be on your game all day, every day.
“People ask us all the time how we became so successful in just two years and the answer may sound silly but it’s just that we go out and give it our best every single day. It’s not easy, but it’s not complicated.”
Be looking for more from Kaycee and Holly here on Salon Fixer as Dallas is on our list for filming new episodes. And, don’t forget that Dear Clark subscribes to Salon Fixer, so we must be doing something right too ;)

6. Hip Cheap Session Bag Post
We ran into Joshua Rossignol recently and noticed he had a very cool session bag packed for his next NYC trip. Joshua is a L’Oreal platform artist, session stylist and hairdresser, working his magic behind the chair in Dallas.
This bag was so perfect we thought it was going to be a high-priced designer or big-time pro stylist bag. We were shocked to learn it was actually a bag made for a different kind of artist — painters. To top it off, the bag is waterproof and sells online for under US$70.
It’s the “Field Portage Studio Tote.” Google it and you can track one down.
Thanks Joshua for the tip.
